ABOUT THE PROJECT

Better questions for charging maps

ChargerGrade is an independent data project built around a practical road-trip question: not merely “is there a charger?” but “how many ways out do I have if it fails?”

What we publish

We turn a national federal station inventory into consistent, inspectable reports for multi-port DC fast-charging locations, cities, states and networks. Every score exposes its ingredients and caveats.

Editorial principles

  • Say what the data can prove. We call this resilience, not uptime.
  • Make comparisons reproducible. One formula applies nationwide.
  • Keep source and snapshot visible. Records change; report dates matter.
  • Design for decisions. Nearby alternatives matter more than decorative maps.

ChargerGrade is not affiliated with any charging operator, vehicle manufacturer, the Department of Energy or the National Laboratory of the Rockies.
